Policies & Expectations

Enrollment & Scheduling

All tutoring sessions and workshops must be scheduled in advance through our booking system. Enrollment is first-come, first-served, and spaces are limited to ensure personalized attention for every student.

Recurring weekly sessions are strongly recommended to help students build consistency and see the best academic growth.

Payment Policy

Payment is required at the time of booking in order to reserve your student’s session.

We accept secure online payments through our booking system.

For recurring tutoring sessions, payment will be processed automatically based on the selected schedule.

All payments are final and non-refundable. Root & Rise Learning does not offer refunds for tutoring sessions, workshops, or services. In certain circumstances, Root & Rise Learning may offer a credit toward a future session at our discretion.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

We understand that schedules sometimes change.

• Sessions cancelled 24 hours or more in advance may be rescheduled.
• Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.
• No-shows will be charged the full session fee.

Because tutoring time is reserved specifically for each student, missed sessions are not eligible for refunds.

Late Arrival

If a student arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time so that the next student is not impacted.

If a tutor needs to start late, the session will be extended or adjusted accordingly.

Parent Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Parents are welcome to drop students off for their scheduled session.

Please ensure that students are picked up promptly at the end of their scheduled session so we can prepare for the next student.

Root & Rise Learning is not a childcare service, and supervision is provided only during scheduled tutoring times.

Student Expectations

To create a positive and productive learning environment, we ask that students:

• Come ready to learn
• Bring any needed school materials or homework
• Show respect to tutors and other students

If behavior significantly disrupts the learning environment, we may need to pause or discontinue services.

Communication With Teachers

With parent permission, Root & Rise Learning may communicate with classroom teachers to better understand student needs and align tutoring support with what students are learning in school.

This helps ensure tutoring sessions reinforce classroom instruction and support long-term academic growth.

Academic Growth

Our goal is to build confidence, skills, and independence in learning. While we strive for meaningful progress, results depend on student engagement, attendance, and consistency.

Regular sessions and practice outside of tutoring help students achieve the best outcomes.

Workshops & Group Sessions

Workshop and group session spaces are limited and reserved in advance.

Because spots are held for each student, workshops and group sessions are non-refundable.

If a student cannot attend a workshop, registration may be transferred to another student if space allows.

Health & Safety

If a student is feeling sick, please reschedule the session so we can maintain a healthy learning environment for all students and families.
